Best Banana Bread Ever!

3-4 smashed bananas
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

Mash bananas in a large bowl. Stir in the butter. Then, stir in the egg, vanilla, and sugar. Next, scatter the baking soda and salt on top of the mixture. Stir again. Finally, stir in the flour. Pour the batter into a greased 4x8 inch pan and cook for one hour in a 350 degree oven.

This is a great recipe for kids since all can be mixed by hand and doesn't require a beater or mixer. Nuts can be added as well if you like. Note: when I made this recipe, I made more than one batch at once. So, when you make yours, it won't look like it makes quite as much. But, trust me, it will still be very delicious!

I just followed ur recipe today but my bread didnt rise up...i mixed the ingredients all by hand, could it turn out better if i mixed it with a machine instead?

if you mixed by hand I think it would have been better to use yeast and waited for the dough to rise.

Mixing by machine typically is better though.

i've heard that if you overmix the ingredients, the bread will not rise. Is that true? But what do you mean by overmix? I though everything should be mixed thoroughly so when its baked, you won't be tasting clumps of sugar..
